Gross, Ugly, Embarrassing Warts

By Lanie Dills

Warts are (lets call a spade a spade) gross, ugly, and very embarrassing. There is a reason why most pictures of Halloween witches have a big fat wart on the end of the old girl’s nose. Let’s face it, no one wants to have a single, little bitty wart much less a whole army of the humiliating little suckers.

What Do They Look Like?

They are usually skin colored and rough to the touch but they can also be dark, flat and smooth. Plantar warts (warts of the soles of the foot) are usually smooth because they have been pushed, from the pressure of walking, back into the skin of the foot.

A staggering fifty percent of sexually active Americans will contract Genital Warts in their lifetime. This awesome figure is enough to make some folks give up the satisfying activity. Just kidding!

What causes the ugly little buggers:

Warts are all sub-types of the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV). There are more than 100 types of the HPV viruses. All warts are spread by physical contact; however, genital warts are the most infectious and are sexually transmitted ONLY. Warts on the body, face, fingers, or feet are also spread by physical contact. Once you are infected with the warts virus, outbreaks of warts can occur at anytime especially if your immune system is depleted.

Will They Go Away On Their Own?

Often warts do disappear on their own especially in children, although it may take many months, or even years, for the warts to go away. Most wart sufferers want to rid themselves of the condition as soon as possible. I, for one, didn’t want to wait months or years for my warts to decide to vacate my fingers, ugh. I wanted to be painlessly wart free immediately. The darn things were limiting my social life as I was constantly trying to hide my hands.

Do They Need To Be Treated?

Usually, yes. Besides being embarrassing when they grow on your face, fingers or genitals, they are also bothersome. They can bleed and cause pain when they’re bumped or scraped. Treatment should decrease the chance that they will be spread to other areas of your body or to other people.

Common methods of getting rid warts in the U.S.

1. Freeze them off. Cryosurgery for wart removal is still used today. It is painful, you will experience blisters and you will usually have scaring. This method has a recurrence rate of a whopping 73%. OMG!

2. Burn them off. Electrocautery also involves blistering and scarring.

3. Cut them off. Large warts are sometimes surgically removed with a recurrence rate of 21%, YIKES.

4. Poison, Acid, Or Prescription Medication them off. Most all of these treatments will get rid of the warts initially, but in many cases the darn things will recur.

5. Get them off the natural way. Yes, this sounds like a winner! No pain… lots of gain… and quickly (in 3 days) gets rid of the humiliating little growths forever. The natural way is a painless, and effective way to permanently remove moles, warts and skin tags in just three days. This method has a 98.5% success rate.

Fortunately, now there is no need to endure burning, freezing or surgical removal. There are now all natural, safe, painless, permanent methods to deal with embarrassing warts. You can give those ugly little persistent growths a kick in the pants permanently with ALL NATURAL methods. Get rid of your warts in three days, not months or years.

Try Some Home Remedies Along With Conventional Treatment Of Genital Warts

Genital warts are caused by particular strains of human papillomavirus or HPV that enters the body during sexual intercourse with an infected partner. The virus infects the epidermis or the mucous membrane and then penetrates into the cells through microscopic abrasions that occur during sexual activities. It does not manifest into genital warts immediately, but can remain in latent stage for years without any outward symptoms. They can however, infect others even in that stage. Sometimes the body’s immune system clears them. If the virus manifests as warts, you need to take them seriously because if left untreated, they will enlarge and cause a lot of discomfort. However, there is no guaranteed cure for genital warts. Some has higher success rate than the others.

If warts are not treated soon, they flare up into cauliflower-like florets. Moreover, genital warts can be embarrassing and irritating due to its location not to speak of the pain, burning sensation and itching. Whether we treat the warts by freezing, burning with acid or treat it with laser therapy, after the treatment of genital warts, the following precautions must be taken:
1. Quit smoking and drinking because genital warts persists in people having these habits
2. Take multi-vitamins every day
3. Exercise
4. Drink as much water as possible
5. Have more fruits and vegetables
6. Stop the usage of scented soaps and vaginal deodorants as they irritate the warts.
7. Keep the genital area clean and dry
8. Use condom
9. Have immune renewal tonics to fight genital warts
10. In case of recurrence of genital warts try alternative treatment like homoeopathy or the natural approach.

Our diet must include yellow, red and orange fruits and vegetables. We should have carrots, corn, mangoes, tomatoes, dark green leafy vegetables, cabbage, lettuce, spinach, beans, peanuts and whole grains. This way the immune system will automatically improve and the chances of getting infected by genital warts would definitely reduce.

To test whether genital warts are malignant one should get a biopsy done. Pap smear tests should be done and the cervix must be treated with antibiotics.

However, if the warts are in some unreachable spot, you cannot use these creams and lotions. Then either you have to go for doctor-applied methods like cryosurgery, laser ablation, cauterization or surgical excision or you can take homeopathic or herbal oral medicines. If you opt for the latter, make sure that these oral medicines are FDI approved. Whatever methods you apply, you should try to raise your immunity level because that is only way to clear the Human papillomavirus. Pursue the following guidelines for a quicker recovery:
1. Good health is the key to a strong immune system. Lead a healthy life and eat a balance diet.
2. Exercise regularly to aid digestion of food.
3. Eat plenty of fruits and vegetable. Avoid junk food, which is toxic by nature.
4. Stop drinking and smoking because they produce lot of toxin in the body and reduce immunity.
5. Take multivitamin tablets regularly because lack of vitamins causes deficiency, which in turn reduces immunity.
6. Take a good immune booster tonic regularly.
7. Drink plenty of water to wash out the toxin materials that are produced everyday in the body.
8. Keep yourself clean.
9. Do not use scented soap or fancy douches and deodorants.
10. Use of condoms does not protect you totally, but can help to some extend. Consider taking Gardasil if necessary. Gardasil is a vaccine that has to be taken before being exposed to the threat.

In the treatment of genital warts the points to be taken into consideration are the preference of the patient, the location and size of the genital warts, the side-effects of the treatment, the cost factor and the experience of the physician. Based on all these factors the method of treatment should be decided. None of the treatments can get over in a single sitting. It involves a course of therapy. Since no single treatment can claim to be the best and the
effect of all treatments vary from person to person, it would be a good idea to forego the treatment at least for some time because sometimes, curiously, warts disappear on their own.

Before starting any treatment for genital warts have it diagnosed first. Make sure the tumour like growth is really genital warts and nothing else. In general, genital warts are not malignant, but if the warts persist, you may have tests like Pap smear done. Whatever mode of treatment you follow, stick to it for quite a few months. These things take time to go. Besides, abstain from sex, not only to protect your partner, but also to save the warts from irritation.

Genital Warts – Medical Approach

By Roger Thompson

Genital warts are caused by the human papilloma virus (HPV), a tricky infection that likes to play hide and seek within those people infected with the virus. You may go for years at a time with no outbreaks and then all of the sudden you develop warts in the most intimate of places. You can learn how to get rid of genital warts temporarily to find relief, but there is always the chance that you can develop even more of them, all thanks to HPV. Did you know that considering all the medical advances that have been made, there has been no success in curing a viral infection? It is no wonder that HPV lingers on wreaking havoc in the form of warts. If you happen to have genital warts, you will never be completely free of them but you can eradicate what you have now and hope that the virus goes dormant.

If you have actually been to the doctor to see how to get rid of genital warts, chances are that you know all about the different medical approaches to getting rid of them. There is an injection administered at the wart sites with interferon as the main medical cocktail. Various prescription creams and chemical gels can also be administered under a doctor’s care.

Liquid nitrogen can be used in cryotherapy to try and freeze the wart off and could potentially take more than one treatment to be successful. Electro cauterization aka burning is another method used by doctors to try and eliminate those warts. Lasers and physical surgical excision are two more methods on how to get rid of genital warts via medical intervention.

Duct tape is by far one of the easiest and cheapest ways on how to get rid of genital warts and while you may not be able to use it on the most sensitive areas like inside the vagina or rectum, you can use it with caution on any genital warts outside of those delicate areas. Apply a piece of duct tape to the affected area and make sure that the warts were covered by the tape. Reapply the tape once a day as the fresh glue from the tape is what many experts believe to be “stripping” away the layers. This can take several weeks of treatment but eventually, there will be no layers left of the wart.

Some people swear by Vitamin C as a way on how to get rid of genital warts, only not in the way you think. Crush a Vitamin C tablet and mix with enough water to make a paste and then apply to the wart and cover with gauze and tape. The acidity in the vitamin is supposed to irritate the wart and help shrink the size but beware that it can be a bit irritating so this remedy should not be used on those genital warts inside the urethra or cervix.

There are countless ways being touted on how to get rid of genital warts naturally and some do work. However, the most tried and true methods for at least a little relief lie in medical intervention such as cryotherapy or surgical removal. Before trying anything on your own, be sure and research those ways on how to get rid of genital warts to ensure that no harmful side effects will occur.

Learn About the Warts on Your Hands

Even the name of this growth sounds ugly. That’s why it’s a high priority for most people to eliminate these growths once you have them. There are quite a number of different types of warts that people can get. Of those, the ones that grow on your hands are among the most visible to others. To prevent spreading these to other parts of your body, immediate treatment is highly recommended.

A type of virus is what causes warts. It’s possible to spread this virus to others through contact. There are many strains of this virus. Typically the kinds of warts that grow on your hands are caused by only a few strains of this virus. Various other types of warts are caused by different strains of the virus. Typically common warts are the type that grows most often on your hands. Two other types however are commonly found growing on your hands.

Subungual warts and periungual warts are the other two types commonly found on people’s hands. These two types also commonly grow on your feet and toes. Plantar warts are the kind that usually grow on the soles of your feet. This type commonly grow in clusters and when they do they are referred to as mosaic warts.

Of the three types commonly found on your hands, subungual warts are the most difficult to treat. Effectively treating this type that home is very difficult and not recommended. Because they grow under your fingernails is the reason why. Growing under your toenails is another place this type can be found. Subungual warts should be treated as quickly as possible. If left untreated, as they grow they can distort the shape of your fingernails. If they grow large enough they can even cause your fingernail to completely detach. If that happens the amount of pain can be excruciating.

Periungual warts is the other type I will talk about. This kind might also be found in proximity to fingernails. Like the other types discussed this kind might also spread to your toes. Periungual warts and common warts both commonly can be treated at home.

To determine what type of wart you have, it’s best to have them diagnosed by a physician. This way you can talk over treatment choices with your physician.

Home treatment with natural remedies is the preferred method for most people. There are quite a few home treatment methods available to use. Some people question the effectiveness of natural remedies since most warts will go away on their own. The success rate for home remedies however are well documented.

Getting rid of warts on hands by using natural home remedies will require your patience. Typically many weeks or even months are required for these methods to work. But if left to go away on their own warts can easily take two years or more, compared to that few months is a long.
