Nutrition to reduce risk of HPV

There is no magic diet, no special fruit or vegetable that will make you impervious to HPV. There’s no way to reduce risk of contracting HPV by 100%, as even the HPV vaccine only protects against the high risk forms that can lead to cancer and so on. That said, you can make some simple changes to your diet to improve your immune system, so as to greatly reduce your risk of contracting HPV, and, should you contract HPV, your immune system will be able to rid your body of the infection that much more quickly.

In fact, let’s forget about HPV for a minute and just consider this: If you eat healthy, you will feel better.

A lot of health food people get it wrong. Eating better isn’t about living longer, it’s not about avoiding foods that will “kill you” (no food can really kill you unless you’re suffering from serious obesity or blood pressure and cholesterol problems) it’s about making the years you have available to you more enjoyable. If you eat well, you will be in a better mood, as nutrition plays a vital part in maintaining mental health. If you eat well, you’ll be stronger, faster, less tired, you’ll feel more comfortable and look better in your own body, your skin will look and feel better, your bones will be stronger, you’ll get sick less often, and you will be happier. You will live longer, as well, but the real point is that, in the here and now, you can improve your quality of life by leaps and bounds by making a few simple dietary changes.

Fruits and vegetables

Here’s the basic rule of fruits and vegetables: There’s almost no such thing as too much.

You may have heard of the supposed “superfruits” which have become pretty trendy these days, but honestly, most of them aren’t much stronger than your average orange or apple. However, if an exotic flavour is enough to get you eating more fruits, go for it.

Look for fruits especially high in vitamin C, most obviously, the orange.

As for vegetables, try just switching sugary, salty snacks out with salads. Play around with different combinations and lighter dressings until you have something you like. Salads mainly provide fiber, which can help to keep your system clean and flush out excess waste. This can be enormously helpful in improving your immune system and preventing colon cancer.

Water

It sounds like a lot, but try to drink about a gallon a day. Water doesn’t contain vitamins or anything, but it works as a sort of lubrication for your body and basically improves all facets of your biological functions.

Protein

You do need protein to keep your immune system and your skin strong to help fight off HPV infection. Try to avoid red meat, though. Something to keep in mind, pork is actually one of the safest, healthiest meats available. It gets a bad name, and certainly, bacon is probably the worst food you can eat, but it digests more easily than beef and is less greasy. If you can get more protein from beans or fish, that’s even better.

Exercise

Nutrition only goes so far. You can have a perfect diet, but if you don’t keep yourself active, your immune system won’t be strong enough to deal with an HPV infection quickly and effectively. Stay fit. If you can make time for some daily situps and pushups, great. If not, at the very least you should take a walk every day.

Cervical Cancer Cause

Cervical cancer is caused by severe abnormal changes in the cells of the cervix. Most precancerous or cancerous cell changes occur in the cervix at the transformation zone because these cells normally undergo constant change. During this natural process of change, some cervical cells can become abnormal if you are infected with high-risk types of HPV.

Other factors that may play a role in causing cervical cancer are as following. Having sex before age 16. Having more than one sex partner, or having a sex partner who has more than one partner. Having an impaired immune system, such as from having HIV. Using birth control pills for more than 5 years. This may be related to infection with HPV.

Smoking or a history of smoking. Smoking seems to make HPV infections last longer. One study shows that your risk of cervical cell changes may also increase if you are around someone else while they smoke. Cervical cell changes are more likely to go away on their own in women who don’t smoke.

Since abnormal cervical cell changes rarely cause symptoms, it is important to have regular Pap test screening. If cervical cell changes progress to cervical cancer, symptoms may develop. Symptoms of cervical cancer may be as following. Abnormal vaginal bleeding or a significant unexplained change in your menstrual cycle.

Bleeding when something comes in contact with the cervix, such as during sexual intercourse or when you insert a diaphragm. Pain during sexual intercourse. Abnormal vaginal discharge containing mucus that may be tinged with blood. Symptoms that may occur when your cervical cancer has progressed are listed here.

Anemia because of abnormal vaginal bleeding. Ongoing pelvic, leg, or back pain. Urinary problems because of blockage of a kidney or ureter. Leakage of urine or fecal content into the vagina because an abnormal opening (fistula) has developed between the vagina and the bladder or rectum. Weight loss.

Regular Pap test screening is the single most important tool to identify cervical cell changes early before they progress to cancer. If cervical cancer is not treated, it may spread from the cervix to the vagina, then into deeper tissue layers of connective tissue around the uterus. As it progresses, it may spread to the pelvic lymph nodes and other pelvic organs.

Advanced-stage cancer may spread to lymph nodes, to other organs in the pelvis, causing problems with kidney and bowel function, or to other organs in the body, such as the liver and lungs. Cervical cancer is classified in stages that are determined by the size of the cancer and how far it has spread to nearby tissues and other organs, such as the lungs, the liver, or bones.

Your doctor will determine the stage of your cervical cancer by gathering information from a variety of tests, including X-rays. The stage of your cancer is one of the most important factors in selecting the treatment option that is right for you. The long-term prognosis depends on the stage of your cervical cancer.

Other than cervical cancer, warts are also caused by some types of HPV. As warts are highly contagious they have become very prevalent in the general population. They can occur virtually anywhere on the body. If afflicted with warts, it becomes necessary to eradicate the HPV infection to eliminate them.

Warts occurring on the body, face, feet, hands or genitals can be successfully eliminated with AntiWarts-Rx. This product is made from strictly certified organic antiviral plant material and concentrated with naturally occurring monoterpene ketones which have tremendous antiviral effects against the wart virus, HPV, as demonstrated in published scientific studies.

As some go their entire life without ever having a wart, while others seem prone to the infection, it is commonly believed occurrences of warts are associated with a lower immunity against HPV. As a result, ImmunoDrops for Warts is a powerful organic dietary supplement developed by NaturesPharma exclusively to combat HPV and strengthen immune parameters for those afflicted with warts.

The antiviral properties of these treatments are undisputed and basic common sense must be considered when using any treatment, natural or synthetic. It is imperative that there is trust in the manufacturers who are the purveyors for quality. To learn more, please go to http://www.naturespharma.org.

Intralesional Interferon Injections Kill the Human Papillomavirus to Cure Genital Warts For Good

By Matthew McMillan

There are ways to remove genital warts. Before we talk about it, let us talk about the virus that causes the warts. Genital warts, medically termed Condylomata acuminata is a highly infectious disease caused by human papillomavirus. It enters the body during sexual intercourse with an infected partner through skin-to-skin contact. However, not all wart-like growth in the genital or perianal area is genital wart. Therefore, it is important to have it diagnosed before undertaking any mode of treatment.

See a dermatologist first. Depending upon the condition of the warts the doctor may prescribe different options for removing genital warts. Let us discuss few of them:

• Patient applied treatment involves applying different creams, gels and lotions in the prescribed dose for a prescribed period at a correct interval on external warts only. Using them too much, too often and for too long may cause irreparable damage.

• Liquid Nitrogen cryosurgery is doctor applied genital wart treatment. Under this process, the warts are killed using liquid nitrogen.

• Killing the warts by using Trichloroacetic acid, Bichloroacetic acid, Podophyllin resin (Podofin), Fluorouracil (Efudex, Fluoroplex) etc is less effective than cryosurgery and is not safe for use in vagina, cervix etc. Besides, there can be very bad side effects including fever, nausea, confusion etc.

• Surgical excision and laser ablation are two more methods of removing genital warts. They have greater risk of scarring. Laser ablation is more expensive than surgical excision, but not necessarily better.

• According to some, Intralesional interferon injections applied locally is the best method of removing genital warts.

There are mainly two types genital wart treatments, patient applied and doctor applied. Following are some basic facts that you should know:

• Let us first make it clear that there is no cure for human papillomavirus, the cause behind the genital warts. It can only be cleared by body’s immune system. As long as the virus remains in the body, the genital warts will keep appearing even after being removed. The virus can however, be kept under control by some kind of immunological response. Regular treatment of warts too can slow down the replication of the virus.

• Almost all treatments have the potentiality to cause depigmentation or scarring. There can be other side effects too.

• Genital warts that have grown on the outer skin and are within easy reach can be treated with patient applied topical medications.

• Warts grown inside the vagina or the rectum need doctor applied genital warts medication

Now, what is interferon? Interferon is a protein produced by the cells in response to challenges posed by viruses, parasites and tumor cells. They are anti viral in nature and can fight tumors. They have another important function too. As an infected cell dies from the cytolitic virus, thousands of viruses will infect the nearby cells. However, if the immune system of the body is strong enough, the infected cell releases interferon, which warns the other cells of the presence of the virus. The cell that has been pre-warned now produces enzymes that starts a complex process, which kills the HPV in the end.

The Interferon injection is not given to pregnant women. If you are pregnant then you need to tell the doctor immediately. The Interferon injection is not administered to pregnant women because this medication may harm the growing fetus. Like the other genital warts medication, Interferon also has some side effects. Some of the side effects are muscle aches, chills and fever, pain near the injection site, hives, temporary decrease in the white blood cells, and a decrease in the blood platelets.

Although the Intralesional interferon is well tolerated by most of the patients, it has some side effects. Some common adverse effects are temporary decrease in the white blood cells and blood platelets, flue like symptoms, increased body temperature, fatigue, headache, muscle aches, convulsion dizziness etc. Hardness on the spot of injection is also very common.

Another minus point of Intralesional interferon is that though it is quite effective it is not that consistent, which means that reappearance of warts cannot be totally ruled out, in spite of it being one of the costliest modes of treatment. That is why many patient look towards alternate medicines to cure genital warts. Some of them promise to eradicate Condylomata acuminata from their roots and vouch that the warts once removed will not reappear.

Talk to your doctor frankly. You must learn about the different modes of treatment and the advantages and disadvantages of each. Choose one that you can afford. Podofilox is the first line of treatment because of its low cost, while Intralesional interferon is quite expensive. While skin erosion and pain are more commonly reported in the former, the side effects of the later are more easily tolerated.

If you know of some friends who have undergone the particular genital warts treatment then they can guide you with the treatment process, and the other details. Most genital warts fall off on their own, but there few stubborn warts that remain for longer time durations. If you can bear the discomfort, most doctors will advise some topical treatments and if you cannot bear the discomfort, then the doctors will directly recommend a surgery.
