Peeling Warts

Do banana peels really cure warts?
I’ve heard by rubbing the inside of a banana peel on a wart and then applying a band-aid or duct tape you can get rid of warts within a few weeks. How does this work and is it reliable?
EDIT: I had a large one on my leg about a year ago and I started rubbing banana peel on it twice a day. Within a couple of weeks it had halved in size and gone black, so I thought it was dead and stopped. But a few days later it returned to normal somehow. Anyway I was pissed off so I cut it off myself. It was gone completely for about nine months, but in the last few days I’ve noticed it has started growing back. It’s not noticeable unless you look closely, but I thought it would be better to get while it’s small rather than if it grows back again. Thoughts?
Applying anything to a wart and keeping up with it repeatedly will get rid of a wart because your immune system will eventually kill it off. If you constantly bother a wart on your body by rubbing it (like a penny, duct tape, or in this case a banana peel) your body will sense it doesn’t belong and kill it off.
I think the key word in this scenario is the band aid or duct tape because those things will disturb the wart most.
