Genital Warts Itch
Can you get genital warts without sexual contact?
I have a small bump on the bottom of the head of my penis. Its just slightly redder the rest of the skin there and is about the size of a small bug bite. It doesn’t hurt, itch or bother me in any way, its just there.I’ve never had any form of sexual contact whatsoever and I’m the only person who’s ever touched it. This isn’t genital warts is it?
You can, but it’s quite rare. HPV is actually a pretty strong virus that can live outside the body in ideal conditions for a little while.
Another option might be that it is a wart, but not a genital wart. HPV strains have their favorite places to live (hands, feet, face genitals), but it’s possible you have a hand wart on your penis. You could have touched someone’s hand who had the virus and then touched your own penis.
See your doctor. They can do a biopsy to determine if it really is a wart. There are ways to cure warts . . . freezing it off, or there is also a cream they can give you. Once warts are gone, they usually never come back.
