Wart help?

Hey. when i was younger i had a wart on my foot. this is about age 10. now 18 I have several warts on my fingertips. i have tried over the counter remedies and also freezing from the doctor numerous times. I dont want to get that done again because it is amazingly painfull. my question is: what other ways are there? ( no over the counter, duct tape or freezing please) Also, what causes warts?

I heard it was the HPV virus but i thought HPV was genital warts. Can I contract the warts on my hand to other parts of my body (including genitals) while washing? if so are they still considered common warts? and if this is the HPV virus…should i still consider getting the HPV shot or is that pointless?

I am a medical student, although it is only my first year.
from what I understand HPV and warts on your hands or feet are two totally different things.
A wart on your hand or foot is usually from a cut that gets infected and then closes back up.
HPV is an STD that can cause warts or cancer…
Sometimes warts are just hard to get rid of, my little boy is only three and has one on his finger, so obviously they are not sexually transmitted, my boy os only three.
Try putting a band- aid on the wart for days at a time, the skin around it will die and you will be able to peel the wart off.
