Warts Turn Black

My wart is turning black?

I’ve had this wart for a while, I havn’t gone to get treatment or find out what to do because the doctors office is not responding, and before that my mom told me to kind of wait it out, we did use some wart removal bandaids. We were planning on going to a pediatrist and now it’s turning black? I really hope this is a good sign because I’ve had this wart for a long time. I havn’t done any treatment to it in about the last month or two. Also, what should I do if I get a war again? Because I know we didn’t treat it correctly this time around. Thank you!

Turning black is a good sign. It generally indicates that the wart has become inflamed and actually has been bled into. That is a sign that you’ve developed some immunity towards the wart virus, and conceivably you won’t ever be bothered by this particular strain of wart again. The bad news is that there are many many strains of warts, so you still are subject to catching another variety. Try to avoid being in places where others might be shedding wart virus: such as don’t go barefoot in a wet area, such as a shower or pool area.

Wart Removal – The Best Treatment

Warts, which may commonly develop on our hands, fingers, and feet, are skin infections caused by a virus named human papillomavirus or HPV. Warts, for children, may disappear by itself after a few weeks or maybe, it would disappear too after years. Warts thrive in moisture places, so it is a rule of thumb to keep the infected part as dry as possible. It should not also be picked for the reason that warts are spreadable or contagious.

For these warts may sometime be cosmetically ugly, there are various wart removals that can be performed to get rid of it. Wart removal may take place just in one corner of your house, or it may also be in hospitals where you may have your doctor or dermatologist to do it. Before anything else, the dermatologist will inject a local anesthetic because in the actual taking off of the warts, patients may feel hurt or may feel serious pain. Meanwhile, for the children, their warts may not undertake wart removal for the reason that it may disappear by itself, as mentioned earlier. But when the time came that their warts are gradually enlarging or starting to grow, actions should be made.

There are many ways of wart removal ranging from home treatments to having your dermatologist take action with it. Here are some usual procedures that you may do to remove your warts:

•    Shave the warts off by scissors or any clean sharp things that are mainly used for cutting.

•    People may use duct tape in removing their warts. They have to put a small piece of it to the infected part and do it again and again until the warts are gone.

•    Some over-the-counter (OTC) medicines contain salicylic acid. Salicylic acid is keratolytic, so it will dissolve the proteins of the warts making it smaller for the time being. This treatment is painful. It may cause allergies and irritations to our skin. It would also takes a lot of time before the warts would be perfectly removed. Meanwhile, over-the-counter medicines that do not contain salicylic acids may not be hurtful when applied to children. It may just take a couple of weeks before their warts would be gone.

•    Cauterization and laser surgery may also be an option. Local anesthetic is usually injected, for the
patient not to be hurt. This operation is often expensive. Additional to that, it may leave scars after the performance.

•    Freezing of warts and putting liquid nitrogen to the infected parts are the duties when cryotherapy is being performed. This operation brings a discomfort feeling and may still continue several days after the operation has been made.

Patients may do any of these methods, whichever they prefer. Wart removal is a must and there are many methods on how to do it, whether it is the traditional ways or the modern techniques.
Due to the fact that home treatments are safer and more effective, people tend not to try the modern treatments because those are not just expensive, but it may also leave scars on their skins. Remember, warts may reoccur anytime even if you had it before when you were still a child or whenever, so be clean and be organized on your things to avoid certain viruses sticking on your stuffs.

Plantar Wart

Plantars Warts

Plantars warts and duct tape… You probably think I am crazy; but I am not. First of all, let me tell you about my personal experience with plantars warts and duct tape.

My daughter who is eleven years old has had plantars warts for approximately the last year. I have taken her to several dermatologists and most recently a podiatrist. I learned through a ton of research that she had plantar warts but they spread at a rapid rate.

I began seeking treatment immediately but they kept spreading so that she had in excess of fifty all over her feet. There were plantars warts everywhere! I was desperate…but plantars wart duct tape…I was not convinced!

At first the doctors were concerned with how much the warts were spreading and why they were spreading at such a rapid pace.

The third and final doctor we went to advised us that we should try burning some of the larger areas with the cryotherapy (freezing the warts). We did this but the pain was so intense it would in effect cause my daughter to have burn marks on her bottoms of her feet because there were so many warts they were trying to treat.

Finally, a young doctor came into me as she heard my daughter crying after the last cryotherapy and said can we try something less painful.

At this point I was willing to try anything because of the pain my daughter was experiencing. Then our doctor said, “I know you are going to think I am crazy but let’s put some duct tape on the warts”. Both I and my daughter just laughed thinking our doctor was trying to be funny.

But all of a sudden she began to wrap duct tape around my daughter’s feet and told me to do the same wrapping procedure everyday for the next two to four weeks. She explained that the duct tape must be applied at night so that my daughter wouldn’t get the duct tape wet and also so she wouldn’t take the duct tape off because of her friends.

The doctor explained to me that when the duct tape is applied to plantars warts it doesn’t allow the plantar wart to breath and will actually cut off the oxygen supply causing the warts to stop spreading and eventually they will go away.

Well, with just a little faith in the young doctor, I was willing to try the idea of plantar wart duct tape! It has to be better than watching my baby cry having the warts removed through cryotherapy.

We reluctantly tried it for four weeks and believe it or not she is plantar wart free! My daughter is much happier now…and less traumatized by visits to the physician.

Plantars warts and duct tape really does work.

I will never laugh at this remedy again. I now always keep duct tape around just in case!

Wart Surgery Recovery

Can 2 ppl who have had anal warts removed have unprotected sex (2nd attempt)?

I posted this yesterday but some did not read. We have ANAL warts not GENITAL warts. I know that we are both contagious, and like i wrote, we are commited to each other so that isn’t a concern right now. My question is are we able to have unprotected sex after surgery recovery (maybe a few months)? Will us both having the same thing cause any harm? We have had unprotected sex plenty of times so im sure we have passed the virus to each other already. Original question is below….

Both my partner and I have anal warts and are going to have them removed with surgery. Since we both have the virus, are we able to (after surgery recover time) go back to having sex without condoms? We are committed to each other so no need to worry about spreading HPV any further.

You can only get each strain of the HPV once, so as long as each of you remains faithful you cannot get reinfected with HPV. Go ahead and have all the sex you want.

Anal warts are the same thing as genital warts. They are caused by the same HPV strains.
